Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2015: : the latest news from the EXPO city

A few days before the inauguration of the EXPO 2015, the Milan Furniture FairSalone Internazionale del Mobile” will take place from April the 14th to April the 19th 2015, in the exhibition district of Rho.

Thanks to this concurrence with the EXPO, the organization committee aims to attract more than 300.000 visitors from more than 160 countries. The 2.000 exhibitors are ready to welcome them with the preview presentation of their furniture and domestic environment concepts.

The first days of the exhibition are reserved to the interior designers and the business audience, while the last two days the exhibition is open to the public.

At the welcome pavilion of the Furniture Fair you can find “In Italy”, a multimedia installation provided with an App. This installation centers around the made in Italy furniture, the style and the Italiansavoir-faire” which stands a base for every design object.

This year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile is organized by the FederlegnoArredo (the Italian wooden furniture Federation) and provides the variety of innovative products as well as cultural meeting points throughout the pavilions and the city’s landmarks. The exhibition is developed around the Classic – Modern -Design canon.

Next to the exhibiton site you can find the Salone Satellite Hall (focused on the emerging designers) as well as the Salone del Complemento d’Arredo Hall. Two further installations will be there: the biennale Euroluce and the Workplace3.0/SaloneUfficio.

The biennale Euroluce

The biennale Euroluce will take place in the pavilion No. 9-11 and 13-15 of the exhibition hub in Rho; A journey into the world of enlightenment. The visitors can also enter the installation-event “Favilla. Ogni luce una voce”. This installation is a tribute to the International Year of Light, as proclaimed by the UNESCO.

Workplace3.0/SaloneUfficio

This exposition will take place in the pavilion No. 22-24 and it will center around the furniture design and the technological solution for the thorough planning of the work places in the office environment. The heart of this exhibition is the initiaztive “La Passeggiata” by Michele De Lucchi, a huge installation that focuses on the the theme of the work environment as a place of relations and life. The aim of this installation is to provide suggestions to architects and designers working in the planning sector.
