Trend and furniture innovations: a positive evaluation of Salone Internazionale del Mobile

The past six days at the 54th Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the Milan Furniture Fair, and at the Fuorisalone, which ended on April the 19th, had been very intense and positive as well.

A huge satisfaction was expressed by sector companies, artisans and furniture manufacturers too because of the large number of visitors and the quality of the furniture and design’s new concepts as well. These concepts could become source of inspiration for our ideas on both office and household furniture.

This year’s edition has been a special one, more like an introduction to the Expo 2015. This explains the reason why there have been many initiatives about food, concerning particularly the kitchen environment in all of its definitions.

At the Milan Furniture Fair there was also a special tribute to the architects of the past and the masters of the Italian design (from Le Corbusier to Sottsass and Mario Bellini), with the recovery of the masterpieces that marked significantly the history of industrial design, as a source of inspiration to the contemporary collections.

The use of profusion glass for container furniture and wall units; more geometrical, sustained and stuffed upholstered chairs, acid” colors like green and yellow, contrast textures for furniture surfaces and accessories, LEDs, and the use of suggestive lights and illumination systems for Euroluce were only a few of the trends that defined this year’s domestic furniture concepts.

Like previous editions, in this journey through the Made in Italy we had the possibility to admire industrial furniture manufacturers’ products as well as fine wood handmade pieces of furniture and fine carpentry works with furniture concepts ranging from the most classical touch to the classics reinterpreted in a more contemporary way, as well as more eccentric works for everyone’s taste.
